I recently as this weekend put brand new brakes on my 97 Altima and the breaks are sqealing louder than the old worn out brakes did. Is there some kind of spray or lube i can put on the brakes to make them stop making so much noise? Its annoying the hell out of me.

You must have used cheap pads when you replaced them or you didn't get all the anti-squeal shims replaced properly. They also sell a gell to place on the back of the brake pads to minimize squeal.

The squeal won't hurt anything, but be annoying. However if you don't want the squeal.

1. Make sure you get the best ceramic pads.
2. Use new anti-squeal plates.
3. Use the anti-squeal gell on the back of the pads where the calipers and pads meet.

Do not use a spray or lubricant on your BRAKES.
You can try cleaning them with
1. Brake cleaner.
2. Water.

DO NOT USE Compressed air.

The squealing is caused by the pads vibrating; so I ask were the rotors machined, or at least deglazed? Are the pads champhered? Some pads come allready champhered, so if not, then dress them w/ a file,(carefull of the dust) Are the calipers moving freely? Are the wheel brgs. set to 0 lash? And lastly do you have anti-vibration shims between pads and pistons? Or at least some high temp grease on the back of the pads? If its all done right there will be NO sqeal anymore.

You need to lube brakes, called sil-glide at the parts store.

Don't lubricate front side of pad where painted, lubricate edges where where touches steering knuckel, and the slides make sure they moove freely. rear brakes if has shoes lubricate pads on back where meets backing plate

Usually this is because of poor quality pads/shoes. I had the same problem and had to change the pads again using dealer parts. (I usually avoid dealers, this is an exception)
