I am 39 and a half weeks pregnant and am was told last week i was dilated 2cm, is it safe for me to still have sex with my husband...i'm due anytime now...well my original due date was oct.27 now its oct.30...i just really want to have sex one more time...it might cause me to go into labor, but i'm ready and i have had no complications in my pregnancy

Yes u can I had sex up until the last day during all my pregnancies as long as the doctor had not told yu not too and your water isn't leaking

my husband and i had sex, seriously, at least 5 times a week when I was pregnant! When I was dilated to 2 at 38 weeks, my midwife stripped my membranes and said to have sex and I may possibly go into labor (she did an ultrasound and my baby was really big and ready to come out!). We had sex every day from then on out, and even the morning before I went into labor on exactly my due date. Sex, if you have not had complications and have no restrictions by your doctor/midwife, is completely safe during pregnancy. Have fun babe, because it most likely will be a long time before you have sex again after the birth!

I had this ensue at 5 and a nil.5 weeks and at 12. It became staggering purple blood yet as long as your no longer having clots, heavy blood that fills up a pad or tissue come out you'll be large. Im now 17 weeks and have not had to any extent further issues yet you may call your physician/midwife to make particular.

yes you can have sex but i wouldn't suggest it. my friend is due on friday and she had sex last night to help her go into labor and afterwards she started to have contractions. they were about 2 minutes apart and were about a minute in length and they were going on for about 2 hours. we went to the emergency room and she was observed for about 5 hours and then they sent her home. the nurse said that sex will help, IF you have the 2 key factors, consistency and the pain. they need to be very consistent not like every 5 minutes then every 3 then every 8 and so forth. they need to be every so many minutes for at least and hour to an hour in a half and they cannot be not consistent. you are in true labor when the contractions are so bad that you have to stop whatever you are doing and you can't talk with them and you have to breathe. also if you can sit down and they ease up or ly down and they ease up or drink water and they ease up, you are not in labor yet, remember the 2 keys ingredients consistency and the pain. my friend tried everything last night, she walked for 2 hours and she exercised on the little ball thingy and then they checked her again and she had done nothing. so they sent her home. but anyways the nurse said that most of the time when you have sex and your mate does his deed inside of you then the hormones will help with the cervix but only if it is time. if it is not time you will just be in pain and it will make you have contractions but it will not change your cervix. therefore no labor. remember that when you are in labor you should change in your cervix dilation at least every hour....good luck and hope this helps!!!!! holly

Yes, you can have sex up until the time your water breaks. It is perfectly safe. And like you said , maybe it will cause you to go into labor which is a good thing.

There is no reason not to unless of course your doctor has said to hold off. You can have sex up until your water breaks and that is just beacuse you don't want to intoduce infection into the uterus. I wish I had your ambition, I am only 9 weeks and sometimes can't muster the energy to do it...haha. Good luck

be aware that people telling you it WILL put u in labor is a lie, it could but chances are not as high as people would like to think, you can try whatever you want but babys not comin till conditions are right for labor and im 38 weeks and having sex 2 and 3 times a day and walking and still nothing!!!!! lol good luck though i hope it works for u. its my third so i figured it work for me but apparently not

NO NO NO!! If you were not dilated I would say yes. I could not have sex the last month of my pregnancy because I was dilated. Ask your Dr. he might say differently, but i was told no once you start to dilate.

If your doctor has not made any restrictions go for it and it is a great way to go into labor. That is how my first son came into the world.
