This is what I did. Go to the store and find the nipples that are shaped like that of a sippy cup. They are made for baby bottles. Put one on. It may take him a little while to adjust but I don't think it's the nipples it's the feel of the bottle in his hands. This way he still has his bottle just not the nipple. The better he adjusts, then move him to a sippy cup. I did this with all 4 of mine. I hope it works for ya. It did for me.
How are ya anyway? Miss ya.

I have been a nanny for six years and have gone through this 4 times now.

The reason kids can't be on the bottle their whole life is because it is horrible for their teeth. Sippy cups and pacifiers don't really help. If you want him to go to sleep let him cry, I know it sound harsh but it will teach him two things: 1. Crying does not get you whatever you want and 2. You do not need a bottle to fall asleep. Play a music box instead or one of those cool ocean noise makers. Try feeding him baby oatmeal at feedings, it seems to stay with them longer and mix it with his mashed food so he knows that there are some yummy tastes out there. Good luck!

give him time. dip the type of thew sippy cup into the liquid that's inside or something he likes. Then attempt to give it to him. When he tastes the liquid he might try to get more.
