All home pregnancy tests check for the presence of a pregnancy hormone. So false positives are very unusual, although with cheaper tests, they might give high false negatives by being not as sensitive to the presence of small amounts of the hormone.

In other words, congratulations!!!

And yes, you should still go see your doctor. But they won't have you coming in regularly until you're much further along.

It doesn't matter where you bought the test. A positive is a positve. Its really hard to get a positive if your not pregnant. The pregnancy tests dectect a hormone in your urine called HCG. That is what causes the second line to show up. If you got the test line and the pregnant line then yep you are pregnant. If you're in any doubt go to a doc or buy e.p.t. or first response. Both of those are the better kind.

On Saturday I went to the dollar store and picked one up because we were out of town. It came out +, however, my husband didn't trust it so we went to walgreens and got two more and did those on Sunday both of which came up +. The dollar store test can't be all bad .. it had the same result as the more expensive ones! Either way, you're going to want to call your doctor and schedule an appointment with them. They're going to want to do the test also. Best of luck to you!

Yes they work very accurate. Mine came up at 9 days past ovulation with a dollar store test. Some nurses swear by them. You are pregnant!

Yes, usually the cheap ones will give you a false negative since they are not as sensitive. My guess that if it said positive then you should be excited and joyful because hun you have a little package on the way.

It doesn't matter about which brand you use. If the pregnancy hormone is there then I'm sure it's correct. If you go to the health dept. they'll use the same kind of testing method. If you think it could be wrong go to your doctor and get a blood test to be even more accurate. Good Luck!

Yup they are right all right. I also bought mine from the dollar store. If it says it is positive, you are pregnant. If it is negative, you sometimes have to wait a little longer because it isn't as sensitive. But if it is positive...Congratulations!

Maybe you should find a nearby Planned Parenthood to confirm this. A lot of times they do not charge anything for pregnancy tests. Some tests have false positives but so you can know for sure you need to take another.

I wouldn't trust it. Go get an EPT test. That is the best on the market. 4 days may still give false positives, however.
