There will be times in your marriage when it will be more or less. What matters is you and your spouse are communicating both your needs and they are getting met whether it be 4 times a day, 4 times a week, 4 times a month or less. I would have to say that if you're only making love 4 times a year that you might need to talk to your spouse and together make it a priority to be intimate more often.
The longer you go without being intimate with your spouse the harder it becomes to get that mood flowing again. In which case, I say you have to just get back on the sattle and ride whether you're feeling the mood or not until love making gets back on track.
