No. Spiders don't bother me. I can honestly say that nothing scares me, however, I tend to freak if a cockroach gets on me. I don't know how some people can live with the disgusting things.

On second thought, I recently took a personality test which said I want no part of confining commitments. I guess I do fear something.

sweating palms, heart racing, dizzyness... the crawling legs supporting the body as the spider dances on the bathroom floor, i roll my trousers up, just in case it tries to climb up them...im scouting the bathroom for something to get the spider but i know that if i make a sudden move soo will the sider... close by i see a glass - i reach for it, with wobbly fingers i am afraid to drop the glass, that would definately make the spider want to jump and shout! i see the Fly spy and soo with these two weapons i spray at the spider with the one hand and attempt to catch the spider in the glass.... bingo!
Now what do i do - i cant touch the glass as i feel that the spider will eat through the glass and land on my finger or even worse!!! what do you do then?

Bats. I took my daughter to Chester Zoo a couple of years ago, whilst there she insisted on going into the Bat house an I didn't want her to know that her daddy was scared of what are essentially winged rats. Obviously it was dark inside and the zoo keepers had done a good job in producing an environment that would keep them happy bats. Running diagonally across the house was what looked like a long washing line with the biggest bat I have ever seen hanging from it, it was like a large cat hanging upside down. I got so frightened that I squeezed my daughters' hand so hard that she started crying, I almost sprinted out of that place, knocking school kids flying in my attempts to get out.

Spiders in this country would not hurt anyone. Not in the tropics!
Why are people so afraid of a tiny spider. They are not an insect and have 8 legs.. I cannot see what frightens people there, but everyone to their own.
What frightens me is being trapped or the thought of being buried alive. Don't like that. It is the unknown.

I am terribly afraid of spiders. I get dizzy and start to breathe real heavy and want to just puke when I have to deal with them.

However, when I brought my daughter home from the hospital, I placed her in her basinet and just as I set her down a spider ran out from under her little mattress pad.

Without hesitation, not even a single thought, I reached up and smashed the thing with my bare hands.

Amazing how empowered a mother can be.

Here's the deal though: My child is now 14 and she can kill her own spiders!

Gee, with that ego, a little spider scares you??

Not much scares me when it comes to animals. I love reptiles, have several as pets including geckos, a snake, two tortoises, have had insects as pets, including Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, and silkworms...Have birds, poison dart frogs...

I'd be most afraid two feet away from a salt water crocodile without Steve Irwin standing nearby.

Of course, I am scared of spiders as well as snakes. I can not look at a cartoon film which has snakes. Not a single picture of them... I can't even write s-n-a-k-e with my legs down.
