Well there are a number of reasons this could be happening. If you just got on the pill or off the pill this isn't uncommon. Also, I would probably rule out pregnancy because it is very rare to bleed this long with implantation of a fetus. If you recently got on the shot this could happen as well. On the other hand it could be a cystic problem or infection but I highly doubt it. Most likely your body is going through a cycle change. Women go through cycle changes at least a few times in a lifetime. Some women dont get a period for a few months and some get it for a month straight. It is good that you are going to your dr. He/she could give you the best answers. I doubt that it is anything serious because they would have you come in sooner. If this is really bothering you, you can always call your dr. and set up an emergency app. all doctors keep a couple of appointments open a day for emergencies. I hope I could help and I will be praying for you.

I went thru this over the summer and bled for 8 weeks. My doctor insisted I was pregnant, despite the fact that my tubes are tied and have been for the past 11 years. Turned out I had an ovarian cyst and my doctor was an idiot.

I stopped bleeding and have been fine ever since. There is medication though that you doctor can give you to stop the bleeding if it turns out to be something thats not so serious.

Ask lots of questions. Do some research on the web...Go to your appointment prepared.

Good luck!

You do not give your age or body type or any body hair if at all. I have a friend who had a similar problem and it is totally hormonal and with the aid of hormones she is doing so very well plus she now has x2 children, so don't worry, this could be 80% of your problem LOL!!!

this could be any number of things. The same thing happened to me last year. the doc changed my pills and increased the daily dose. It turned out I had a uterine infection. Later they found I had a large polyp that came back normal. you could just maybe have a cyst women get them alot

Sweetie you're not alone...there are many reasons for this to be happening to you but dont worry too much. What the doctor will probably do is put you on birth control to regulate your period.

You don't say how old you are - however, if you are in your late 30's or 40's, generally, the problem tends to be fibroids. They are common, but you need to see a doctor
