If you turn your phone off, you will not be able to see who tried to call you...but you will still receive your text messages and voicemails upon turning your phone back on.
A cell phone works much like a house portable phone. If its unplugged the caller id will not work.

I am sure you will not miss all your voicemessages, and text message, because they actually pay to do that. If they call you without leaving an message, ( they donot need to pay from they phone) so you will not know when they called you. So, ask your friends to leave a message when you are not answer the phone. My friends, all know it, so I see the message and I knew he/she called and I can call them back too. Textmessages and voice messages , your phone will show you a picture like an envolope, so you know you have new or unread messages ( my phone does that, I am not sure about your) If you need more and better answer, call your phone bill company is the best ways to find out.
Good Luck

Put it on vibrate or silent and you will get everything. Depends on your phone too. If your phone is off, the call automatically goes to voicemail, but if they don't leave message then you won't know who called and hung up.

I pretty sure you can still get your text messages and voice messages when you turn it on. I don't think your phone keeps track of your missed call if it's off though.

You would recieve your text & Voicemail, to check for missed calls it depends if your service provider gives that option.. without your service providers assistance you cant get them even though your handset has similar options .
