I asked my 58 year old mom for you and she said "Blue eyeshadow and ice pink would make you a cool girl, the square girls stuck to just basic red lipstick, but applied heavily."

Square girls NEVER wore a lick of make-up.
Only cool girls wore ice pink lipstick...and only naughty wild girls would ever be caught with eyeshadow on in the 50s...that didn't really come round till the late 60s.
Nice girls (but not square girls) would wear fair pressed powder from a compact all over their face, a little pink blush and lipstick and some mascara...if you were a little wild some eyeliner and red lipstick instead...but square girls were all about cat eyes and no make-up...lol..and they wouldn't have had a poodle skirt - only popular cool girls had those.

We wore little eyemakeup except mascara in the 50's-at least those of us still in high school. The pink lipstick would be fine and we either used rouge or blotted our lips with tissue and rubbed that on our cheeks since we had no blush. With the skirt, you need a wide belt and on your feet, heavy white cotton socks, either rolled down twice or worn straight up with either penny loafers or white bucks. A white nylon blouse with a cardigan thrown over your shoulders or a plain short sleeved sweater, along with a separate angora collar or a cardigan buttoned down the back, would really look authentic, if you could find these items. I wasn't what you would call "square" though. The square, nerdy types wore no makeup, had greasy hair and pimples.

even if you are still wearing glasses, line them with some black liquid eyeliner and give them a tip at the end like the "cats eye" look. Either rosey your cheeks up or put a very bubblegum pink lipstick on your lips.

Suttelty is key. Light blue eye shadow, a natural looking redish pink (not fire truck red nor a pasty metalic pink), ample blush. No eye liner some mascara.

I don't think a square girl from the fifties probably wore much make up. If you must, though, keep it pale and unobtrusive. Even I, the oldster, don't remember the make up from the fifties! I was still in grade school!

I think you should get black and white eyeshadow and kind of mix it in together if you know what i mean ..... and a small light bit of foundation, and clear lip gloss. DON'T GO TACKY!!

In the 50's, square girls did not wear any makeup.
