Everyone i've always spoke to says you need experience - i'm never going to get any experience unless someone gives me my first break!

Any advice?

become an apprentice for an agency, write to them and tell them about yourself. go on this website:
http://www.prospects.ac.uk/cms/ShowPage/Home_page/Explore_types_of_jobs/Types_of_Job/p!eipaL?state=showocc&idno=648&pageno=1

or just type in google fashion predictors and its the third one down.
gd luck!xx

why don't you try to get a job within a company that does that sort of thing (not actually fashion trend predicting job...) and move up from there... a lot of people just need a foot in the door and the right manager and they go places fast! Also, if you start in one area and go to another makes you an asset for the company as well - knowledge is power! good luck!

Try working within the magazine industry first but obviously connected with your interest in fashion - its much easier to get into, gives you lots of experience and contacts. thats exactly what I did and now I'm doing just what you want to do but in another industry.

Find a big publishing house and pep up that CV! (But be prepared for pants money at first!)

trend forecasting is a very good job. do you read doneger and pantone etc. regularly? i honestly don't know how to get a job in that industry without experience. i myself am looking for an entry level job in the fashion industry right now and ur absolutely right about the gaining experience if they won't give us a chance! boooo!

Go to a community college if you live in the U.S, take some fashion classes, and get at least an associate degree in the fashion design.
