Ok, so. I just moved to Nebraska with my boyfriend and he introduced me to a friend of his and his wife so I'd make friends. They were cool and whatever, but they had a baby six months ago..And we went over to their house to say congratz. OH MY GOD. They have a dog and it just smelt disgusting (the house that is) that and there was dishes everywhere, you could tell that they haven't mopped or vaccummed in forever, and they just had a NEWBORN. They didn't clean up at all, nothing. Didn't even dust a little bit. Their house smell makes you want to puke. And then, in August...They moved. To a bigger house because the mess in their old house got too big. Anyway, they still haven't unpacked (it's now late october) and they now have more of a zoo, a cat, 2 bunnies. And they all pretty much live in their living room. There are fecies everywhere, bunnies are dirty animals if not taken care of. The baby got a fungus on his FACE, and now I have to babysit this baby..should i call someone?

Yes, 1-800-652-1999 is the hotline number for Nebraska health and human services to report child abuse and neglect. You will not be required to leave your name, but they will request that you do to help build a case if necessary. When you call, you should be able to provide information such as where they live, the age of the child, your concerns as you listed above and anything else you can think of. Health and Human services are required to investigate usually within 24 hours. However, if the mess is as terrible as you describe, they may come out within 1-2 hours because of the risk to the child. You also have the option of reporting this to the local police because of child endangerment. Please seriously consider the risk to the child in this situation and call the hotline.

Yes! I used to have a similar problem with some people I know but not that severe! I would definately call CPS. Even if you tried to help and clean up the house and had a heart to heart with the mom, it sounds like theyve made this a lifestyle. This type of lifestyle is hard to break. If the baby has fungus on his/her face, THATS ABUSE! Its one thing if they want to live in filth on their own, but to bring an innocent child into the chaos is just wrong! Think of it this way, if you dont say anything, and somebody else does, you might be seen as guilty too! I know it sucks to have to get the officials involved, but in this severe case, its best for the baby!:(

Don't be afraid to call the health department or C.P.S. they will make sure the environment is cleaned up and will give they parents time to clean up before taking drastic measures like taking the baby it will just be like tough love coming from the state instead of from you personally. However if you are a somewhat of a friend it would be less humiliating to the family if you told them the house needed to be cleaned up for health reasons. If your a really good friend or like if they hire you to watch the baby tell them you would be interested in cleaning as well that way you could make more money and they would be to defensive in the matter.

If this is the situation with a child something has to be done, tell her that she needs to get rid of the animals or she will loose her child, no child deserves to live in that kind of environment tell her if she does not clean her house she will loose her baby if that does not happend call DCFS anonymous and tell them the situation and have someone go there and investigate. I know this will upset the mother but think of the child and what he/she is living in. If you cannot do that tell her that you hear that DCFS was called and she needs to get the house cleaned before they come and take the child.

OK, first of all I hope you are just writing this story for attention because that baby is in danger and it will dies from all that dirt! What you need to do is talk to those lazy *** people and let them know that they need to clean their house for the baby's sake. If they don't listen then take it to the next step and report them to CPS because its a lot of mothers and fathers out there that cant even have children and would love to adopt a child!!!!!

Yes!!! There is no way a child should have to live like that. You have to look out for the welfare of that child. What if something really bad happened to that baby? Would you then feel guilty for not doing anything? By not saying anything you are enabling them. You can call anonymously. Help the baby he can't help himself.

Even if you called CPS they would not do anything because the baby is not considered to be harmed. They don't really care about the condition of a house. And then if you talk to your friend about the house, then you may lose the friendship. Some people are just plain messy and they don't care if they have kids.

i understand what you propose. while i replaced into turning out to be up my buddy Serena might visit all of the time. I went to her homestead two times and then desperate to no longer go anymore via fact her homestead replaced into filthy. She lived in a small 2 mattress room homestead and had 7 cats. all of them pooped interior. They pooped interior the front room, the kitchen, the mattress room. And no person picked up the poop. The smell interior the homestead replaced into disgusting, specifically via fact that they stored all of the homestead windows and doorways closed. So, you need to tell your daughter what I instructed my buddy. I instructed her that my mom did no longer enable me to flow to different persons's residences, yet that i ought to have acquaintances over any time. My buddy replaced into comfortable with that as long as shall we carry out jointly. do no longer grant the different mom to assist sparkling her homestead. There are disgusting human beings accessible. She's conscious that her house is filthy, yet she's comfortable with it. think of approximately it, if she wasn't comfortable with it, she would not have asked you in. She's a slob and you would be able to desire to maintain your daughter out of there formerly she catches a bacterial affliction or some thing. make certain your daughter would not eat or drink something on a similar time as she's there the two. I doubt that female washes her palms often.

The baby is in a dangerous home. I'd call child protective services. But be prepared for the fallout. What does your boyfriend say?

yes they are LAZZZZY people, and their baby is in danger of getting sick from alot of house hold airborn polutions. not just that why do they have a baby, their harder to take care of than a house. I see that you are a caring person, this baby needs a clean environment to live and breath in. If I was you I would call human services, or department of social services. they need to realize what their doing isn't caring for their baby. Please take my advise and call somebody about this.If they want to keep their baby this should do it. it shall change there ways of life. and your name will not be brought up during this time in need. human services does not tell who called or anything for that matter..........
GOOD LUCK! care for that baby and do something about this, this is serious.
