Same reason they don't make junkie, hooker or anorexic avatars... why encourage unhealthy behavior?

They have the "plus size" avatars, but the funny thing about those is that they are what people consider "average" now- the regular avatars I believe are extremely thin and so few women actually look like that. I suggested to yahoo that they get one of those meter things that you can use to change the weight of the avatar- guess they didnt like that idea, although i mentioned it years ago!

I don't see anything "plus sized" about the above avatar.. I thought that myself at first, but seeing how some of the creeps on here reply to questions, they'd probably just insult those people with "plus size" avatars anyway.

Good question... I think the reason why is that many people who are obese get upset from the image portrayed on the Internet. Furthermore, society is quite cruel. E.g. look at fashion models, have you ever seen one thats fat? The idea for most people is that skinny are better than those who are fat

My avatar is what they call "plus sized" but to me it looks normal. I guess it's just not okay for us bigger girls to be comfortable in our skin. I say more cushion for the pushin'. Most men will tell you they'd rather have a little meat on a woman than a boney chick. Just be happy with who you are and don't worry about what's on the internet.

That's a good question. I think it has to do with the perception of overweight people as undesirable or lacking in some way (I'm not passing judgement). I don't ever remember anyone saying; "I really want to get huge and fat!"

Well I dont think it is necessary for a person to look exactly like their avatar...does it really matter? You cannot make a digital pict that look like you perfectly its near impossible.
