As long as you have the finances for a baby, go for it! But you have to consider child care while your at work, food, clothes and all of that fun stuff and also may mean you need to cut of any unnecessary thing from your life (like Starbucks every day or whatever).
When you have a child, try to avoid living pay check to pay check. That's hard on everyone. Are you married? Good Luck!

I don't think you're selfish, becoming a mother is a natural instinct that every woman has whether she's rich or poor. And these people don't know you maybe you had an emergency or extra expenses this week and ran out of money which happens can happen to anyone! However financial planning is very important for you and your baby's future. See what expenses you can cut out of your life and save whatever you can from every paycheck. Some people have had an easy life they don't know what its like to struggle so they tend to criticize without knowledge. Just focus on your own goals and making your dreams come true and work hard towards them. Those who work hard are the ones that make it in the end.

No one is kicking you when you are down this is reality. Your baby can't wait to eat until you get paid on Friday. Babies eat around the clock everyday! Don't be selfish! If you can't afford a test (which by the way they sell at the dollar store) then you have no business bringing a baby into the world SELFISH!~ You can't give a baby the best life waiting for a check to appear on Fridays.

:) I think you're showing a good amount of responsibility.
To those who said "Babies don't wait until you get paid, they need to be fed": Most people have a "reserve" of food, meaning there is always something. They don't wait until they are out before buying food. Most parents I know also put their child first, meaning the will buy food for baby before buying food for themselves. Tests are not something necessary, and a lot of people don't just keep them sitting around. You go buy them when you need them, not just for the heck of it.
Good job paying off your bills. :) Sounds like you have a plan. I wish you lots of luck!

A test costs a mere $10... what are you going to do when you need an emergency item for your baby if you don't have a spare $10, because baby items cost more... Just wondering...
