WHATEVER it takes.... I would protect Our non human family members the same as my own children and risk my own life to keep them safe.

Our family works donates time and money to local wildlife, and protects them.. and those are animals not in our family so of course our animals would certainly get at least the same.

We are often broke, and do nothave everything that we want,, but we manage somehow... money and stuff are just that... STUFF
you cant put a price on a living thing.

HOWEVER.. Its about the best interest of the animal.. so if its suffering and can not recover... its cruel to be selfish and keep it alive just because of your feelings for it.. I would not do that..

Good Luck on why ever you are asking this question!

That's sort of a relative type question as some people will spend more then others as they may have more money then others or are willing to go without for a while. This doesn't make the people who don't spend that much money bad people.

I love my dogs, but if it meant my children will have to go without food because one of our dogs needed a $2000 surgery, I'm sorry, but the dog will be put down. My children will always come before my animals. Does this make me a bad person? I certainly hope not, but I'm sure in someones eyes, I am the cruelest person in the world.

That is a good question. I had to be faced with that question once before with my 8 week old Chinese Shar-pei puppy. It had its knees growing on the inside of it's legs and had severe hernia's. It was going to cost me 900 per leg and 1500 for the hernia's and the vet told me it would not be 100% foolproof. He told me that the chance of the knees going back to the way they were was 50-50 and the hernia's would come back. The legs were very painful for him and the hernia's were life threatening. I had no choice but to put him down. It was the best thing for him and believe me it was the hardest thing I had to do. He also had seizures which would have killed him too.

If it were something like heartworms, I would do what it took to cure him. Most vets will allow you to make payments if you are willing to sign a contract they will do what they can to save your pet.

i love my cat, but it would really depend....if it were a serious accident or disease i would probably not spend the money..but for regular care, fix a broken leg (no surgery), pull a tooth....yes, but once you start talking several thousand dollars..no. And that does not make me cruel....as much as I love my pet I don't have the option of spending thousands on a pet vs my child. And no, I don't have pet insurance...on purpose...the cost is prohibitive relative to the coverage

For the 1st element of your question, I spent over 25,000 protecting our Rottie alive for the period of 14 years. i do no longer think of absolutely everyone seems to be greater prosperous immediately, nor have pets reached an superior status, i think of the advances in vet care have made this achievable! i'm so grateful for great vets, they're incredible, if it is performed to a human, it is performed for an animal. coverage and care credit is likewise obtainable now the place it replaced into no longer interior the previous.

I've spent over $2,000.00 in the past 6 months and still have a ways to go to get the horse healed up, the two dogs are well now, one was over a thousand and the other over eight hundred

about a year ago i paid $500 to try to save my dog.....the dr did everything right but just did it a day after she should have!!! She fixed his problem but he was with me 24/7...the dr decided that even though the problem was fixed, she would keep him over the weekend so she could keep an eye on him (noone was there all weekend except for a few minutes to feed him) by time she was to send him home he died of loneliness.....he hated to be away from me and me from him!!!!!

I would spend every dime I had to save my pets life, unless it was something that was going to cause it to suffer. I wouldnt want to be selfish and prolong its life if it was something that was not 100 percent fixable.

As much as I had to. If my pet was to make a full recovery, and have quality of life,I would have a bank loan if necesary.
