I don't believe in conspiracy's, but it seems that those who oppose the use of ID cards in order to vote are concerned about eliminating some votes that would favor them. There can be no other reasonable explanation for opposing valid and confirmed eligible voters. The idea that ID cards is somehow racists is insulting to everyone. We need ID cards to buy and drive vehicles, fly on airplanes, open and use bank accounts, obtain credit cards, food stamps, social security and pay checks. To think that it would be an undue hardship on anyone is making a big issue out of one that does not exist.

I think the statement is a little broad. There may be individuals with other reasons than committing fraud who oppose showing ID. It's a little like saying everyone who is against mandatory background checks for gun purchases wants to use the gun for an illegal purpose.

I think it's a great idea to show ID, even if there were legitimate concerns. The cost and benefit of showing ID must be weighed. Here, I think the benefit outweighs the cost.

Well, it would only make sense. Otherwise, as has happens so much with the Democrat voter fraud machine, one has myriad issues.

Each fraudulent vote disfranchises someone - by making their LEGAL vote not count.

I find it difficult to believe that a person can go thru life without an ID. Without an ID, how do you even get on the voter rolls? It stinks like corruption, Democrat corruption.

Aside from liberals, many conservatives want it both ways. They oppose voter fraud, but are against perceived invasion of privacy. Liberals feel that requiring ID would violate the rights of minorities. They will all be quite vocal, so common sense may lose out.

I completely agree. You have to show your id for everything... why would you not need to identify yourself properly while doing something as important as voting. Especially with the way identity fraud has consumed our society. Voting is a privilege for American citizens only and they all have proper ids, so why would anyone disagree with showing identification. Who are these people hoping will show up?

I agree - there should also be a "hook-up" so each & every questionable ID could be verified! The only way I know to keep illegals with stolen SS numbers from voting...... with the influx of 12 - 20 million illegals in our country our elections will be on a par with the most corrupt third world countries! But then our government is showing us everyday that corruption is acceptable!

Totally agree, Hmmmm that's pretty much liberals that want that isn't it?

To Democrats: Voting is a privilege not a right. Its a privilege that can be taken away for any number of reasons. Being a felon for one, not being the correct age and so on. Having a picture ID should be absolutely mandatory!

I think the politicians who oppose showing ID do want voter fraud, but the people who oppose it are mostly sheep who think they are making the right decision or do not have ID's themselves.

Agree with you.

You need ID to do anything in this country so why is this even an issue.

Try going to the bank, store or enrolling a child in school. No one can live in a cave (pun intended) without showing ID. My daughter had to show ID before she could sign the lease on her apartment , same with getting her phone installed.

I agree. I am shocked that photo IDs are not required. If everyone was really concerned about voter fraud that is the most reasonable step to stop it.

So I believe that there are organized parties who do not want to end the fraud.
