Originality went out the minute the average cost of making a movie went over $2 Million - nobody is willing to risk that much money on a project wherein they can't point to the profits and popularity of a similar movie - so only similar movies get made.
Movies are PRODUCT, NOT ART. Anyone trying to make art should really try another medium, or at least avoid Hollywood.

Most original thinking does not come from the movie makers it comes from the writers .Your mind develops new ideas, or should if it is stimulated with deep thought ,READING etc. Ask yourself for an original idea,if you have one write it down you maybe on your way to bigger and better things than just wondering.

The remakes are getting a little old. This is not to say they should never be done, but tone it down a little. But what I am really sick of is the old 70s or 80s TV show to movie phenom.

Originality has left the building. What's even worse is the fact that a lot of the younger population don't even realize that they are being fed seconds.

Are you severe?.......absolutely everyone seems to be attempting to carve out some spot in this international that announces "Originality". walk into any mall and in basic terms "human beings watch". I agree, there are some issues like insane piercings and severe hair colorations/cuts, yet inspite of a sea of tattoos, man or woman make those issues their own. in spite of in case you watch skate boarders. they attempt to create some new way of doing it their way! existence could be a experience!!!! while you're in basic terms "seeing" the posers, seem deeper. take excitement in!

You're right. Remakes are really irritating. If you can't make it better than the original, don't do it.
