Keep wearing what you are comfortable in, but add little things to change it up or make it more stylish. For example, everybody is layering this fall, so you could buy a cute, long take to go under a polo, and a chunky necklace and belt. Or something like that, but you get the idea!

you need some good fashion magazines (that come from your area of the country so the weight of the fabrics fit your climate). Put your name on come catalog lists.

I buy mostly conservative basic color suits and dresses so that you can add jewelry, add color, change shoes, add a belt, add a shawl, be dressy or not, and for all occasion. Each jacket has a skirt and slacks. Some are washable, some are dry cleanable. I buy tees to fit under the jackets. Occasionally I will buy something light weight (for travel) and in conservative stripes.

In addition to that you should have a couple of play or fun outfits for each season (basically 2-3 seasons). If you mix those with the conservatives (from my above paragraph) your wardrobe will cost you less.

Then have a pair of jeans or slacks and good tennis shoes w/arch, and hiking shoes (or just thicker soled shoes), boots and sandals, flats, and comfortable heels. Black shoes will go with everything. You can pick shoes up at Payless for $10.

Your first year of purchases will probably cost you $1,000 or more. But since the clothes are conservative you can keep them for many years and just add to your wardrobe.

Read fashion magazines, and ne ways, just because the celebs are wearing them DOES NOT in any way mean it looks good. Look as Mary Kate Olsen's clothing for example:P. And also..where what YOU like and what YOU find comfortable, it's you wearing the clothing not other people. And as far as make-up is concerned don't pile it on. I would suggest asking your mom if she wears make-up to show you how to do it. Or go to a make-up store and get them to give you a make over and show you what your colours are and how to apply properly.

Choose a store with clothing you like and pick a salesperson who seems to have a sense of style and is reasonably well-dressed. Have that person help you choose an outfit or two.

the best advice i could give to you would be to start with a color. maybe a color that you like or a color that you would like to see urself in that you never considered. after that start going into the store and buying all different types of shirts in that color or color range. you will find yourself stepping out of the box. the cool thing about it is you can put almost any top with a great pair of jeans these days. good luck and happy shopping!!!

throw yourself into a stylish store you would not normally step foot into. Grab a bunch of stuff that catches your eye, and try it on...you'll get the hang of it and find your Stylish style. I too sometimes get in the comfortable slump where all i buy or wear are my jeans tshirt and flip flops and thats ok....but it does boost your self esteem to look more stylish sometimes. good luck!

just wear what you like to wear and don't worry about what people think. make up your own style, be creative! go goodwill shopping so you don't spend a ton of money finding out what you like. i love going to goodwill and finding a sweet pair of jeans that someone else spent 60 bucks on and wore one time, and then i buy them for 5!!

clothes and fashion have something in common that most people don't know, they reflect our feelings inside us. they could also tell of our character. start by wearing something that reflects what you feel. be your own. that is fashion in itself..most of all always remember to put on a smile.....
