well my friend as brilliant as the idea may sound.... i would have to say, that it is not possible.
till the time you have brain working properly you will have emotions. its like the default function of human beings.
Your question is a sort of paradox. first you say that yo don't want any emotions then you want to have everything you aspire for. your quest itself is driven by emotions here... to achieve something.
According to what you say if you have no emotions, then you will not have any desires also. Its however true that you can train yourself to not have certain emotions. But not all. Buddha also wanted to get away from all the suffering of this world. He disconnected himself from all the materialistic aspects of life and roamed around in jungle to find the ultimate truth of life. Are you ready for that????? because if you not then you have emotional attachments to a lot of things around you.
The purpose of having no emotions is not to achieve something you want, its rather not to want anything.
Life a vicious circle :)

Emotions are wonderful and a huge part of a quality life. Apathy is death. Emotions drive us to achieve, to grow, to change and to learn.
Some emotions are scary like anger and even love. But all emotions are just energy in motion. If you stop the motion of this energy you get stagnation.
The key is to harness your emotions so they serve you and not the other way around. Passion and love are wonderful motivators to a life well lived. Anger and hate can be transformed and their energy can be utilized for good with some conscious work.

I don't think that most humans can become "numb" to all emotion- however, I think some people choose to avoid the way they feel and pretend not to feel ways they feel inside and that really messes with them later in life. Personally, right now, I wish I was numb to emotion, so if you know of a way that it is possible, keep me posted on it. I just need to do something just long enough to get through the pain I feel right now.

Oh yes, you can become numb. The mind might tend to overcompensate and go haywire though. It's all about balance. Think of DARKMAN, no, seriously. He lost all physical sensation and became violent to compensate for the loss of feelings. I just don't know how those vulcans did it. And what would be the point of accomplishing whatever you wanted without joy or satisfaction or a sense of accomplishment? Emotion can drive you. Without ambition, by becomming numb, trust me, you wouldn't want to do anything. Been there.

I think under extreme personal anguish, a person can become "numb" but they are also borderline catatonic or in need of counseling by that point too. Embrace your emotions! This is what seperates us from the animals but be in control of your emotions and you can achieve anything!

i think it is possible, like if you are depressed or depressed and on meds. i've heard of a lot of people in those situations who have been numb to emotions. as for being numb in order to achieve things, what would be the point? after you achieve it you wouldn't appreciate it because you couldn't be happy.

If a person has no emotions, they are as good as dead. What is the point in living and trying to reach goals, attain achievements be admired and loved, if you can't feel the joy from any of it? That would not be living, existing maybe - but where's the fun in that?

Come on down here to New Orleans for the next big hurricane and stay for the aftermath. You will find yourself experiencing emotional numbness. It's not as amazing as you think.

Many people will tell you that depression isn't feeling sad all the time but not wanting to feel anything at all. It's why people drink, or do drugs or mentally check out, it numbs.
