I work in a call center, and this induvidual is supposed be on our "helpdesk", meaning he's supposed to help people that have questions. Whenever someone else asks him for help, he's really helpful and nice to them, but if I do, he treats me like I'm incompetent, and he's very rude to me. He almost cost me a customer yesterday because he told me we couldn't do something for him, which was not true. I don't believe I've been rude or nasty to him, and it's not a perception problem on my part. Other people have asked me why I put up with it. I don't want to act like a whiny baby, but I am tired of putting up with this. What should I do?

Go to your supervisor and discuss the problem. If it continues after that, then go to your supervisor's supervisor and file a complaint. Make sure everything is documented so they can't come back later and say "we didn't know." They will eventually either put this guy in a different position, or fire him if he dosen't stop harassing you. You could always ask why he has a problem with you, too, though I wouldn't recomend that

The best thing to do in my experience (I work at one) is to talk to him in private. Ask him if there is anything you unknowingly did that was offensive to him or he might have heard rumors that u said sumthin abt him or whatever. Trust me this clears a lot of things. Good luck

Bite him.
Some people are just jerks. My sil worked at a place where people treated her like crap, she tried everything, nothing worked.

hire someone to "teach" him some manners. If you can't afford the money, then ask to speak with his supervisor and him to see what the problem is.

I agree with Nightslayer. Don't be confrontational, just be matter of fact.
