Just keep avoiding her. Chances are that If you try to explain the situation she'll take it the wrong way. You're trying to ditch a friend, not gain an enemy.

Think it through, is there a certain day you would hang out? a particular time she calls you? You need to be occupied during those times so that you are unavailable.

Return her phone calls less and less. She'll get the idea, and if she confronts you about the situation, you can say she's jumping to conclusions and that if she's passing judgment on you then you prefer not to speak to her anymore.

Be honest but not hurtfull. People do grow apart and get different interests. It shouldn't be "over". unless it is That uncomfortable. Say no once in awhile till they get the idea enough to talk to you about it. I tell them "it's not as much fun anymore".

Honestly I think you should just keep your distance and if she comes to you you need to let her know that you feel like maybe you two need to take some time away..If she doesn't accept that then just be straight forward and honest with her,, As hard as that will be it is what you want and you need to make you happy first:P

The best way is just the way you said, I had it done to me when I was much younger. Turn to him her and say with force It's over.

Just tell her that you feel that you 2 are on 2 different pages and you feel as if that it should stay that way.
