Lots of bright people are on this site who know lots of things, so thought I'd toss this one. This problem has to have been around forever, so there has to be a topical remedy that someone's grandmother knew. All the websites just want to sell you a product.

No, that is a pretty deep fungus. Even the ORAL MEDICATION takes a LONG TIME to cure. Better give up, and get the medication, otherwise you are gonna have the THICK, CRUSTY, FLAKY, LAYERED BROWN toenails that some old men have.

Try alcohol - dab it on each toe with a q-tip daily...I used to wear acrylic nails and when I finally took them off, my finger nails were badly damaged and had fungus from them. I used the alcohol to soak up the moisture and they cleared up within a year. Also consider getting pedicures to have someone professional clean and shape your toes.

I've had this problem and the Lamisil causes liver damage so use it as a last resort...grapefruit extract or teatree oil is supposed to work but takes forever....strangely enough mine cleared by putting the lamisil athletes foot creme directly on my nail...give it a try it worked for me!

Not too many of the old school grandmas left. You are probably going to have to go to the doctor and have it treated. All the remedies I have gotten off the web are full of sh*t.
