I updated and now things are a mess - I keep getting all these ads & pop ups - including the yahoo home page??? I can be on another page and the Yahoo! homepage just pops up? Where is my pop up blocker icon? Where do I go to learn more about all this? So far, I do not like this new version?! Seems to run a lot slower now, what happened? All these windows opening keep going down to my task bar....and filling it up! This is a work computer and up to me to fix....HELPPPP PLEASE!!!!!!!

Go back into your explorier and make sure your blocker is on and you have your firewall up. and turn your security to mediam high.

You may want to consider doing a system restore on you computer. This feature takes your computer back to the last time it worked properly.
To use it, go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.
Choose to restore to an earlier date, and just pick the day before you installed IE7.
This should fix you right up.

You are correct in saying that downloading and installing Firefox will be your best popup blocker. Your second-best popup blocker will be downloading and installing Opera. Dump IE - it will NEVER be free of popups.

Sounds like you have spyware, time to run Adaware, Spybot, Windows Defender..

i would reccomend swithching to firefox...
