Yes you can use your router to share the printer but the computer which the printer is connected must be marked as shared and computer also must be turned on.

Yes. The printer would need to have a ethernet port to connect dirctly to the router if not you would need a parallel port to ethernet adapter so you can connect the line to the router or a wireless Print Server. EIther way, the software that comes with these will run a wizard to connect you automatically.
