The way for you to deal with the doubt as to the what, how and where about bacteria and infections (particularly regarding oral sex or "fingering"), is to convince your boyfriend to go with you to a testing clinic and get a full screening for STD's. This will give you a little peace of mind regarding whether or not you might contract an STD from your boyfriend. The other thing you should always do to ensure that you don't get any infections from bacteria.....take a nice, warm shower with your boyfriend before you guys get physical....make sure you bathe eachother well, particularly the genital areas.....and his fingers.
Best of Luck!

Yes you can get an infection from being fingered if he didnt wash his hands very good or at all or if he has a cute with an infection on his hands..and yes you can get disease by giving oral sex just like you can regular sex..always use a condom even if its just oral sex..

Yes, you can get an infection if his hands were really dirty, but I don't think you can catch a disease, but you can from oral if he has one, like herpes. You've been with him long enough that you guys should feel comfortable talking about this stuff (assuming he's honest with you). You can also find any info. you need about "sex education" on the internet.

women can get infections "down there" by the slightest things...sitting in a dirty bath tub, sitting on a dirty toliet, dirty hands from your boyfriend when he pleases you...
you need to take every precaution in the world to protect yourself...even though you have been with him 6 months, he still could be hiding things that you dont know

Why not ring NHS Direct? I don't really think this sort of question is appropriate on a site that children can easily access.

You can get the herpes virus from oral sex, does he or you get cold sores if you do then don't. HIV is transmitted by exchange of body fluids.
