I'm moderate in political views and I'm having a hard time deciding who to vote for.

Is there any web site out there that is going to be unbias and state facts about Georgia canidates, their history and their platforms. Its been really hard reading up on their websites because it can often be misleading.

If you know of any web sites that can help me decide who I need to vote for, please send it my way. I do not strictly vote Democrate or Republican... I vote for whose platform is best and who has the best "track" record or history in politics.

I know what I personally stand for, but its hard to see through these happy smiling faces and friendly advertisements to see what issues their mind and heart are really set on.

Thanks for your help.

You are facing the challenge that most of us face.....how to get facts about politicians. I try to find out something about the candidates background and family. If they have actually held a real job or ran a business, I give them a extra credit for being in the real world. If they have been in politics since high school, they will never give you a straight answer to anything.

I also carefully parse their statements about how they view the world. If their solutions to every problem is higher taxes and more government control, I am not likely to support them.

I also look for more centrist candidates. Joe Lieberman, Herb Kohl, Susan Collins are examples of centrist politicians. They will be more likely to work for middle ground and compromise.

Be very careful around election cycles. Politians tend to move toward the center to get YOUR (moderate) votes. Once they are elected they do what pleases them the most. Typically Democrates tend to do this more than Replublicans. I would look at the voting records this tells you if a candidate believes if Govenrment should run your life or if you should run your life. Who controls what is the big difference between the two parties. Democrates tend to believe that government knows best and Republicans tend to want government out of the way.

You decide... Look at the voting records, but whatever you do DO NOT pay attention to TV ads... they are the WORST source of information......look for TV shows that have both parties on and give both parties time to talk. Look for the ones that make the polticians talk about the questions and not spew words out like a billboard. Then you can make a better decision...

It really depends. On principle, I would have to vote for the person who isn't like me. However, depending on the crime and the situation of the crime and the specific political points that I differ with the other guy on, that would affect if I stay with principle or do something else.

They really don't make a website like that, and the candidates own websites are trumped up to make the person look good
I would just read all the candidates websites, and their views on matters that are important to me, and just remember that maybe 60% of what they are saying is true. In my opinion all politicians are crooked..you just have to find the one who is the least shady

I don't know of a website that is not biased, but my best guess is for you to go to the Republican and Democrat websites and make your own comparison; there is always Sonny's www.youdeservetoknowthetruth.com;

Can't really help you with a website, but please consider Sonny Perdue. He has really done a lot to help GA teachers (I'm one of them)
