Try a program called Trillian 3 Basic it is free and it will let you get all major instant messengers MSN, Yahoo, AIM, and ICQ. It also has a IRC (Internet Relay Chat) function.

Have you tried msn messanger. You can use that and it is a very good messanger to use. You do not have to have an msn account to use it either. Go to www.msn.com and look for the messanger download. Hopefully that will work for you.

In yahoo, if you download the new toolbar it will work again. I lost it a while back, don't know how, but when I did the download, it came back.
