Hands down, the CX500 Series. They are top heavy, the brakes are pretty suspect, and the Stator location makes replacement a pain in the ****. However, they are shaft driven, have a very generous powerband (when naked, the standards break the 100 mile per hour barrier, the turbos well over 120), they area very forgiving with new riders. They are incredibly comfortable. Mechanically, they are very reliable as long as you keep up on oil changes and proper maintenance. If you have a cow of a girlfriend, you can still get her fat butt on the bike and still comfortably tour (name ANY other 500 cc bike that can effortelessly pull 400 lbs of rider weight plus a Windjammer IV with lowers, saddlebags, and a trunk!) They top out at 50 horsepower (82bhp for a turbo), but those gears know how to use it wisely. Oh, and those turbos! It's much fun looking at the face of one of the new 600cc superbike riders when they realize that the guy managing to keep up with them (up to about 110 miles per hour anyway) is on a bike that's older than they are. I have owned 2- CB750K's, 2- CB750F's, 1- CB450, 1- CB350, (all 70's and '80's bikes), and none of them compared to my CX500's. (Incidentally, I have owned 3- CX500 Deluxes and 3- CX500 Turbos).

Dude, for speed from Honda, get a Blackbird. For speed from Suzuki, get the Hayabusa (Japanese for Peregrin Falcon; the Blackbird Killer). For speed from Kawasaki get the Ninja.

And a Shadow as a sports cruiser? LOL

That would depend on what you want the bike for, speed, comfort, touring etc.

The all around best bike for in town and trips is the 1300 ABS.

If you want to just travel, get a Goldwing.

If you want speed get a Suzuki Hayabusa.

I think that is determined by your needs in a motorcycle. If I just had to choose on it would be the Gold Wing.

I would highly recommend the 1966 Honda CB160. My first bike and best bike.

i would go with the goldwing if you want a luxury touring ride, if you want a sports cruiser then the shadow would be a good one...although, honda probably has more models than i actually know about,,, crotch rockets are not my style so i know nothing about them..sorry,,

Wow, you just opened a big *** can of worms with this one, lol.
Being a sportbike rider Im going to have to say the CBR series, but all their bikes are really pretty good.
