It is easier to take up for others because we see the good in them. Very few people will take the time to step back and look for the good in ourselves. You are just important as your friends are try TO BELIEVE THAT.

I think it has to do with it not being your problem directly - in the sense that the threat is not aimed at you. Or that when standing up for someone else you don't need to prove anything about yourself - standing up for another already does that.
Is it that you don't feel threatened when you are being bullied? I'd be careful. And don't take crud from anyone, no one is better than you. Anyone can be a bully, it takes a man to stand up to a layabout.

I'm the same way, you care for the underdog because they most likely don't fend for themselves and you just know what to do to help them. When you are bullied it's very different you feel helpless because you are most likely fighting a different crowd,so you have the tenancy to not do anything. Don't just get mean and start something it will make things worse.

Maybe it has to do with the way you are bullied - the light in which you see it' - or refer to as 'being bullied.'

It can be sometimes difficult to see being bullied as that and instead, see it as 'criticism,' and that has also to do with the technique used to get it across to you.

But I think, in general terms, it depends on what you actually mean by 'bullied.'

Sorry if that seems pedantic, but I think it's important.

because it shows to the bullies you can stand up for your friends and this gives you confidence but when your in the situation yourself you have no one to back you up and therefore dont feel you can handle that situation on your own!!do though...show them you are confident and they wont mess with you..good luck x

'Cos you're too altruistic for your own good. That is, selfless: looking pout for others above your self. It can be good to have a small dose of this in everyone, but if you have too much of this, it can eventually get you into trouble, 'cos you'd be too busy saving others to save yourself. Altruism: that's why.

You think more of others than you do of yourself. Get some self-confidence for yourself, like the confidence you have for your friends. And why aren't your friends defending you the way you defend them??

I am the same. I know that i can handle it and not let it annoy me, but if I see it happen to someone else I can't sit back and watch someone being victimised

i do this also. you probably feel more comfortable defending somone else because they arent picking on you. you wouldn't want to confront someone if they were bullying you but anyone else would be okay.
