most definitely!
alot of things have happened in my life that have made me a more patient humble person than I was...
it's difficult when things you have no control over happens to you or the people around you...
I see things much differently now than 15 or 20 yrs ago...
life gets built up and torn down and built up again...
old friends pass away and new people come into your life....
I have learned to accept each hand that I am dealt good or bad but to play it to the best of my ability
each challenge that life brings me teaches me something a little bit more about myself.

Both literally and emotionally, laser eye surgery has made me see things differently! Got an infusion of confidence as I was very short-sighted before and had to wear heavy glasses (before thinner lenses were cheaper in price) so got rashes on cheeks, doing sports was a nightmare. Also I was a person who never took risks and having the surgery was a big deal for me which paid off, so now I am more confident about taking calculated risks, so I feel that the procedure put me on the path for a more varied interesting life. Not that I would advocate it for everyone, but it was definitely right for me, and I think I appreciate the senses all the more for being able to enhance the one I value the most.

Yep. Quite a serious breakdown has changed me in so many ways. I realise now to balance my life and that I am not invincible. I have become a stronger person and more able to say no when I need to. It has forced me to live my life differently, as I am no longer able to work full time, that in turn has opened up so many hobbies that I never would have tried before.
I now have to be very self aware to prevent any other breakdowns.
I am very grateful for my health and peace of mind, something I hadn't thought of much before.

Definitely. It was the moment in my life when I knew things would never be the same. I was married and found out that my husband was having an affair. They had a child together. She was a former client of mine. But what he didn't know is that she was HIV+. I've never beent he same. Luckily I'm negative and their children were negative too, but I look at the world through different eyes.

Yes. The death of a parent. It made me start living in the moment because you never know when it could be your last day.

the birth of our daughter. I realized how much of a responsibility I have to care for her and her well fare for the next 18 + yrs.
and weather what I inculcate in her heart & mind will be worth it. or perhaps make her life enjoyable.

yes. found who I thought was a soul mate, but she wants me out of her life for good now, as I screwed things up good. I wanna better myself and take care of the people I love better and not be so selfish in relationships but be better at true intimacy.

Becoming a Christian. That changed my perspective on everything. I imagine that getting married and having kids changes one's perspective on life.
