I feel SO desperate to lose weight! I have NOT been heavy all my life, but after having kids and going through some big hormonal things I am 100 pounds overweight! I know what to do, but then when I come face to face with that birthday cake or cookies and milk, I'll think "I'm doing good, this is not going to derail me" Do you think eating better is more important than working out? I swear, I will exersice (damn good workouts, too!) 5 days in a week and STILL only loose 1 pound, or stay the same and yes, even be UP a pound!! I am losing my patience! I've tried to make myself throw up! I feel so desperate!

There was a lady who recenlty asked much the same question on here. I sent her an e-book that contains all the info you need on how to eat, how to excercise, etc. and she seemed very pleased with it. It;s very logical and sensible advise, no mumbo jumbo diet rubbish. If you send me your email address through the link on my profile page I will forward it to you as well. If not, remember this: first you have to stop gaining weight (which, unfortunately, has to do with your eating habits). Excercise will stop just maintaining your weight and actually help you lose it once it has a chance to get to work on your fat stores, as opposed to trying to get rid of what you add on every day. When those cookies seem sooo enticing think of it this way: you eat one, create a sugar rush, your body releases insulin to regulate itself, and that insulin opens up your fat cells and dumps your cookie right in...not an attractive thought, now is it? :-) Don;t push yourself so hard that you immediately want to rebel. Set yourself little goals and take it slow and steady. When you get a craving for sweets and know you wont be able to stop yourself from indulging, go for a better option every time. E.g. instead of a whole choclate bar eat some strawberries dunked in a little chocolate. And the next time you go for the plain strawberries, etc...little steps, big results. Best of luck, honey, you can do it.

The best way to lose weight is to combine both good eating habits and a more active lifestyle. It can't be one or the other. It has to be both! First of all, go to a doctor to make sure that there's no underlying problem with you losing weight, such as a thyroid problem. Once you come to the conclusion that there is nothing physically wrong with you (or if there is), you can start dealing with your weight. The best way to think of it is this... 3500 calories makes a pound. So, if you exercise to the point where you burn 500 calories and cut out an additional 500 calories from your food intake each day, that's about 7000 calories a week. You can lose up to 2-2.5 pounds a week going by that rule. The more calories you burn off and cut out from your eating, obviously the more you'll lose. The safest diet is limiting your caloric intake to no less than 1200 calories a day. Start keeping a food diary and record EVERYTHING you eat AND drink! Yes, drink! You'd be amazed at how much those calories from drinks add up! Plus, you'll be amazed to see how much you do eat in one day! It's a real eye opener. Of course, it's OK to splurge once and awhile, but not all the time. I really hope that this helps with your weighloss. And don't give up! It'll take some time to see results, but it'll definitely be worth it!

Muscles weigh more than fat. With your exercising you can expect to gain weight but lose sizes in clothing as you tone your muscles. You can expect to safely lose about 2lbs a week in a program of diet and exercise. Also, being 100 lbs overweight qualifies you as obese. The extra fat you are carrying may make you resistant to insulin, which is needed to carry glucose into your cells. This may also also retard your weight loss efforts. The fact is, you must take fewer calories in than what you expend in your day in order to lose weight. If your dietary habits are not doing that, then you will not lose weight. I would get a check up to make sure that you do not have pre-diabetes (or type II diabetes, already), and then start a food diary for three days. Write down everything that goes into your mouth, including liquids. Take it to a dietician or nutritionist to help hammer out a healthy meal plan, and you can still have the cake and cookies, but only in moderation. Denial just sabotages you psychologically.
Remember even if your scale says you have gained weight during your program, if the clothes are sagging on you, you are doing okay. Eventually, the weight will come down too. I would expect you to have to take about a year to lose all the weight you have gained. Changing your dietary habits is hard, but it works better and for longer than any pill or surgery.

I was always tiny most of my life then i had a baby and bam where did the weight come from..lmao..i have tried every thing to loss the weight, im just like you i see something sweet and then i loss all control. I have worked out and watched my diet for years and it never helped me. I even have a YMCA pass they have a pretty good work out room, but that didnt help me much. But i still go. I think just watching every little thing you put in your mouth and exersiceing will work great, just if we can stick to it..I have trouble with my blood sugar and im always grabing something sweet to make my sugar go back up. I got depressed a few weeks ago and quit everything diet and the exersice and went to have my blood work done and then i went back a week later to get the results and i lost 10 pound with out even trying. wow now if i knew how i did that i would be tiny again.lmao..What ever you do please dont throw up its not worth that..

weight watchers points are a very good thing. even if your not in the program, there is a chart and you stick to that many points a day.

weight under 150 is 20 points
150-175 22 points
175-200 24 points
200-225 26 points
225-250 28 points
and so on.

DONT USE ADDERAL LIKE SAID ABOVE...
IVE USED IT FOR 8 YEARS AND NOW I'M 21 WITH HEART PROBLEMS. YES IT MAKES YOU LOSE WEIGHT BUT IT HURTS YOU IN THE LONG RUN.

good, judging via how she's all tousled in her relationships (2 boyfriends while) she could say sure and simply use you to cheer up after which sell off you. I'd say that is a little bit of a grey discipline. But should you quite believe she's that wonderful and you do not brain what occurs later then yep you are proper two perhaps three weeks and your golden. the opposite one will ordinarily get jealous, however should you men do not speak she'll recover from you and transfer on and you can certainly not have that threat once more... which might suck if she honestly is that lovely :L You gotta make a decision which lady you favor extra. seeing that should you opt for one your gonna fail to see the opposite. the dancing factor: I individually believe that might be quite lovable xP however a few ladies might be like.. wtf?? i suppose it relies on the way you pull it off - like if you are a quite humorous no longer awkward man you are golden with that. But should you come of tacky it is recreation over. Hope i might support :P

I joined Curves and absolutely LOVED it. It's only 30 minutes a few times a week, it's simple and easy, not too strenuous. The girls there are really supportive and a lot of fun. They also have a nutrition class that helps with the dieting part. It's pretty cheap, too - think about it. I lost about 3 lbs a week there, total of about 40 lbs. Good luck!

Calm down! You may be building muscle as you lose fat and that means that the scale says you're losing slowly or not losing at all. I'm the same way.

Instead of focusing on what the scale says, I went to the gym and had them to a "body fat analysis" so I can see how much of my body is fat. I'm aiming at lowering that and not worrying about what the scale says.

I'm losing inches, not pounds, but I'm happy because I'm also stronger.
