people say that when your baby stops moving more than normal that it is getting ready to come out. Well I have been having pains all day and contractions here and there and my baby has barely moved at all. Normally he is doing rolls and stuff. Is that true about the movement?

My daughter was very active up until I delivered. The movement is not as strong the last couple of weeks because the baby does not have as much room.

It's getting tight in there. Im sure that all is well.

After 18 to 20 weeks, you will notice that your baby moves and kicks more at certain times of the day. For example, when you are active, you may notice less kicking than when you are resting quietly. At your prenatal visits, your health professional will ask you whether the baby is active. Your sense of your baby''s movement is a good measure of how well the baby is doing in the womb.1

In the last trimester of your pregnancy, your health professional may advise you to keep track of the baby''s movement every day. A common method of checking your baby''s movement is to see how much time it takes to feel 10 movements. Ten movements (such as kicks, flutters, or rolls) in 1 hour or less are considered normal, but do not panic if you do not feel 10 movements. Less activity may simply mean the baby is sleeping.

If you are unable to feel 10 movements over an hour, continue counting for a second hour. If you count fewer than 10 movements over a 2-hour period, call your doctor immediately.

As long as you can feel some movement I'm sure the baby is fine. Still, you should ask your doctor, he/she may ask you to come in and have an ultrasound and listen for the heartbeat. If you are worried about something like this, you shouldn't ask on yahoo, your baby is way more important than that, and sometimes people on here aren't that serious about things. Hope all is well with you and the baby. Good luck!!!

I had just had a baby. I had to be induced in the last month my baby would be real active one day and not move at all the next day or two. the pain is just false labor cramps. you will know when it is the real thing because the pain never goes away and only get worse.

Around the last month or so your baby is constantly growing at a rapid rate! Your belly can only grow but so big sweetie. Your baby is just alittle cramped up in there! Imagine being cramped up in a little area and you're still growing-It is not only uncomfortable for you, think about your little one! To satisfy your curiosity, go see your doc to hear the heartbeat and let him/her tell you everything is fine. You should start to worry when your baby is not moving atleast once every hour. Basically, it is true..... think about it! I wish you and your new baby the best!

MY son slowed down his movements near the end...due to the fact that he didn't have much room. If there's no movement at all...you may want to call the DR

With m son, he was pretty big anf the last week or so he did not move around a whole lot. The doctor told me it was simply because there was not a lot of room left for him. Hope everything goes smoothly fo you!

If your child is not moving as much as he normally does you need to contact your doctor immediately. He will probably have you do kick counts, but he may have you come in. I don't want to scare you but it could be a sign of impending fetal distress. Call your doctor.
