That's pretty evil and makes us no better then the terrorists.

Bush and his cohorts are ultimately Machiavellian in their political dealings. As much as they pay lip service to Christian morality, in behavior they truly believe that the ends justifies the means. In that respect, they are no better than the terrorists they seek to vanquish. Both the terrorists and the Bush administration believe they are serving a higher purpose. Both use foot soldiers from lower economic strata, who are desperate and confused, and have them employed as cannon fodder to die for beliefs based on faulty premises. Both Bush and terrorists make the innocent suffer for the criminality of a few. Both invoke God to give their causes some credence.

Ultimately Bush and the terrorists he has sworn to bring to “justice” are such kindred spirits its no wonder that he has no qualms about using torture methods, just as they have no reservation in using torture either.

Why do you want to be "better than the terrorists"? Moral superiority does not guaruntee our survival. Our willingness and ability to fight and protect ourselves does.

I think one should judge a government by how it treats its own citizens rather than how it treats outsiders. Look at the freedoms you enjoy in this country! You have freedom of speech (including dissent), there is no state religion you must pay homage to, for starters.

Extra:
The ends don't justify the means! However, the rightness of an action is measured not just in the action itself, but the circumstances surrounding the action, and what values the action promotes. Most people believe killing in cold blood is evil, but many fewer believe it is evil to kill in self defense. These beliefs come from an understanding that human life is valuable, and there are very few circumstances where taking life is justified. I think of torture the same way.

This shouldn't have to be explained over and over but you and other conspiracy activists obviously need to have the facts repeated over and over.

If you are so concerned about people that are trying to kill us being tortured, why aren't you concerned about Americans that are incarcerated here in the US being tortured daily?

So far, the courts have ultimately agreed that the current administration is not torturing enemy combatants. Even with the water boarding and other tactics.

If you really want to get involved with torture consider this: When an enemy combatant is caught in battle, what do you think Sargent Joe does to him before he's turned over to intelligence?

Because Bush is basically a terrorist.

It's cute that everybody goes straight to the playbook with "Why do you support our enemies?" in response to this - just proves that Bush's constant stumping really does work on dull people. Of course, people like John McCain, war vets who have actually been subjected to torture while Bush was blowing coke up his nose, disagree - and the reason they do is because, obviously, if we allow torture, we're only further jeopardizing the safety of our own troops and - as hollow as this is - relinquishing our own claim to "moral superiority." Not that any of this really even matters anymore at this stage - I'll grant you that. We've sent thousands of soldiers to die for no easily definable reason and our former respectability on the world stage is a thing of history.

A famous singer who knew him at Harvard (I forget which one) said he was a sadistic fraternity creep in college where he loved to paddle the pledges. I assume that's where he got his taste for it.

Class act, Bush, all the way...

Why do terrorists support murder, forcing the US to torture them to reveal information that will save American lives?
