i would not go to group if anyone i knew was there. this is a personal thing and even though there are other people in attendance, they don't know me, therefore if they converse about me to someone else, they would not know me personally either. the tough part would be to not get too close to those in my group so everyone would be objective

i did this. i was making a fresh start in life and joined a tai chi class, after a couple of weeks of really enjoying it. i woman i worked with turned up, she had been on holiday for first weeks i was there.
not sure why but i didn't like it and stopped going.
if it had been a really good old friend it would have probably been different.
