That outrages me. To export something we have been going to war over for years and making Americans pay the bill for increased gas prices. We can't drill in "protected" areas because of government but we can allow other countries to drill on our land and ship it back to their homeland. That is absurd!

I work for that company CNOOC and it is the third largest in the world. We don't need American Oil, we have oil from Venezuela, Australia, several African Countries, Indonesia and have negotiated several new exploration treaties with other countries. There are actually two companies here, one for offshore drilling and the other for on land. We have many gas reservoirs here and production will soon be inline with the growing economy. America has given China bad press because several of the countries have refused to deal with America, i.e. Myanmar, Somalia, Angola, etc. Also you are wrong that it is a company that is run by the government, it is a joint operation between China and companies such as Shell, Exxon, Egyptian Oil, etc. Norway is one of the supplies and a lot of the technology comes from Norway...and English is the main language of oil. Many of our engineers are Americans, and as we open a new gas reservoir near HaiNan Island with a capacity of about 3,000,000,000,000 cubic feet, the facility will have been designed by structural engineers from America. Better check your facts before asking a polemic question.
