An ABS TONE RING is the tooth laden device attached to the hub or axle that the ABS sensor uses to "count" the speed of the axle/hub rotation. It them sends a signal to the ABS controller, and the controller compares ALL of the signals from the car, and uses these signals to make anti-lock adjustments for the braking system.
