I have always wondered about this, is it possible there is actually an answer?

It all depends on why he is chucking it. If he is in a wood chucking contest the I would imagine he would throw it as far as he can. If he is just goofing around, probably not all that far. If he is trying to protect his house and family, very far with accuracy. If the wind is to his back, even farther. It also depends on the size of the wood.

My woodchuck can throw an average piece of wood 18 feet. So my answer is 18 feet.

None, you answered your question all ready. A woodchuck couldn't chuck wood. You said what if he could, implying that he couldn't chuck any wood to begin with.
