TINKER---Not fair, John wouldn't have made that statement, if he hadn't already made it.

That is before he made it, or after he thought about making it, or something like that.

C – George W. Bush statement has to win hands down.

His statement underestimated the cost of life on both our side, and those on the Iraqi side. The statements made by Bill Clinton and the one arm man did not cost anyone the lives of their sons, husbands, fathers, or daughters. The statement made by Custer did cause the wholesale slaughter of Native Americans, but since we are living in the here and now, we should consider any current rhetoric that will cost lives more grave than past statements made.

The most regettable statement....
A. General Custer losing his life by underestimating the strength of the Native Americans
B. One-arm-guy has some very personal regets I am sure
C. George Bush with another underestimation of strength
D. Bill Clinton with a statement that shows disregard to laws and his health.

Most regrettable statement would be Custer because he lost his own life. Next would be The one-arm-guy because of the bodily harm it caused him. Third would be George Bush even though throughout history military commanders have repeatedly underestimated the eneimies will or strength. And even though I dislike Clinton very much his statement didn't mean much so would be last in terms of regrettable statements. Though he lied and bought shame to every American impeachment would have been a little harsh. He is one of the main reasons that Democrats lost the White House, Senate, and House of R.

C. Bush b/c it is still going, people are still dying, and it continues to digress over there. I won't bash the president or policy, but that along with the "mission acomplished speach" are notably regrettable.

I have to go with Jean R. on this one. It just goes to show what liars we voted for. And the sad case is, the American taxes still hold an office for him and pay through the nose.

None of the above. Patrick Henry did when he stated he regretted that he had only one life to give to his country.
