If it's something that happening you ask: Que esta pasando?.
But if you just greeting you can say: Que pasa? or Que paso?. In Honduras you say Que pedo, loco? the mexicans say que onda, guey? in miami you say Que vola, asere, monina? Colombians say Quiubo pues, como me le va? Also Cubans in Miami say elegantly Como andas? Mi Venezuelan friend say Que es la joda?

The literal translation is "Que esta pasando?" but usually friends meet and tell each other " Que Paso?" more like a slang
