its basically a card that you put into your desktop or laptop that allows you to have wireless internet access. u can go to compusa or bestbuy.

Hi. 'NIC' stands for 'Network Interface Card'. There is usually an RJ-45 cable, but yours seems to work without one to a wireless router.
