Recently my neighbor who is 13 years old, has been spending a whole lot of time with a guy who is a whole lot older than her- he's 20!!! He's at her house every day!!! he used to be friends with my brothers but not as much anymore. i was also kind of friends with him, and he is a little immature. anyway, people have asked them what is going on, and they claim that they are just friends, but i just have this feeling that they are just saying that so no one gets worried......and so now no one really seems to think the age difference is a big deal, not even this girls mother! what do you think?

I think it is a big deal and it's a shame the mother doesn't care. At least someone cares about this girl. I would have a talk with the both of them I mean that's what a seven year difference what could they possibly have in common. She's not even grown up enough to know what she wants or even who she is her self. I would have a talk with the mother too. Unless she like the idea of being a grandma at her age.

What do you know about this guy? You say you know him so you should have some idea of what this guy is like. Does he have a job? But I do think the age difference is a big problem. If anything sexual is happening then it can be seen as Statutory Rape of a minor. So this girl needs to be sure in her mind of what she is doing with this guy. Maybe there is nothing going on. Talk to this girl see if you can't weed some information out of her, maybe for her own safety and well being. I know if my 14 yr old was seeing some one that age I would hope that one of her friends would do the right thing and advise me of it. The mother needs to help in this matter also.

Leave them. At the end of the day he might be too old but hey, if her mum is not going to do anything, what would you be able to do? Nothing.

I am shocked about that girls mum though, how stupid to believe nothing is going on there?!

its a massive deal but depending where your from i dont think alot can be done unless the girl herself reports that something offhand is happening.there are really no laws protecting children from the pervy scum of society
