Your spelling is fine. You don't have to change your name on your children's birth certificates. Take your marriage certificate to Dept of Motor Vehicles and get a new driver's license. Your passport will have to be changed before you next travel with it.

Change your name on the passport, driver's license, social security card and any credit cards you may share. Also, a joint checking/savings account if any. The birth certificate does not need to be changed.

The name on the birth certificate cannot be changed. Passport can be changed after youve gotten your driver's license changed.
You go to social security office and fill out a name change form and produce your current drivers lic. etc, whatever they require, birth cert.
Bank and cc's you have to close those accounts and reopen in the new name and present the new drivers lic. no. etc. Happy nuptuals!

You have to first change it with the Social Security Administration in your jurisdiction and provide them with verification of who you are, including drivers license, divorce records etc. They can give you a list if you call .Then you can change it on your license, with employer and so on.The childrens names do not need to be changed, and cannot legally, unless he is adopting them and the childrens father(s) have no parental rights or is in agreement. In any event,as far as the kids, you may want to seek free legal counsel. It's a pain-good luck!

passport, social security card, driver license, work documents, insurance, bank, your kids school record (and also add your new husband as a legal gurdian) doctors office, thats all I can think of off the top of my head.
Your madien name should be on the birth certificates anyway so that doesn't matter and can't be changed.

Unless he is adopting your children legally, their names stay the same. Your last name will change (if you want it to) on all of your legal documents. Just have a copy of your marriage certificate to prove it when you go to the SS Dept., DPS, etc..

Go to www.theknot.com
They have a program called the "name change kit" for $19 that can mail you. It made everything so much easier for me.
