Its ok. If you are an adult you can be with a minor thats a maximum 4 years younger than you.

The age of consent is the age when the law says you can agree to have sex. In most countries, until you reach this age you can't legally have sex with anyone, however old they are. Sometimes the law is slightly different when the partners are of a similar age, but there is usually still a minimum age below which sex is always illegal.

Statutory rape is the crime that someone can be charged with if they have sex with a person who has not reached the age of consent but who agrees to have sex. Some countries have different names for this, and some states in the US call it 'unlawful sexual penetration' or just 'rape'.

Sexual abuse is the term for an adult using their age or authority over a young person to make any type of sexual contact. There is a difference between this and two young people who are in a consenting relationship.

The legal age of consent varies from state to state. In most states it is 16. Check out the link.

If all you're doing is kissing, you're fine. Girls often mature emotionally sooner than boys so a 16 year old girl and a 19 year old boy may be very compatible. But I'd suggest that you research the age-of-consent laws in your state before you move past the kissing stage or you could find yourself facing statutory rape charges "even if she likes it." Even if you find that the law is on your side in your state, be careful not to push her into anything she's not ready for. You're an adult; she's not.

Yes. If you are only kissing, it is not a sexual relationship, only a romantic one - irregardless of the age of consent where you live.

It's not child abuse, because a "child" is someone who is below the age of sexual development, not an adolescent.

Also, you may be interested to know that the "age of consent" thing between an adult and a minor only kicks in when there is a 4 year age gap between the two parties. There's only three years between you and your girlfriend, so you are fine.

It wouldn't be considered child abuse, but you can be prosecuted in the US for having sex with a minor, even at age 19. If you just kiss her, I don't think there are any laws against that. But, I don't know any 19 yr old boys that are just satisfied with only kissing.

your kissing her..its really not that big a deal in terms of if its abuse or whet ever. Most people have their first kiss at like 12-13 so it doesnt really matter, + shes 16 and your 19 its not like yor some 42yr old pervert or anything.

A while ago i was seeing a guy who was 21(5yrs older) lots of people with big age gaps date, 3yrs really isnt that huge so its alright

You know, kissing leads to other things. I just don't see a person of who is considered "of legal age" waiting for 2 years for other things, if you get my drift.

It is a situation that you need to avoid because you are the one that faces jail time if anything did occur. It's not worth the risk. You need to be hanging out with people your age or older, not high school age.

I'm sure you feel comfortable around high school age kids because you just left that scene, but it's time to move on.

No,there is nothing wrong with that, the only thing you will get in trouble for would be if you had sex with her and someone found out.I'm 16 and my bf is 19 also,so don't listen to the people saying to stay away from her, people always try to ruin things, just try not to have sex until she is at least 17.

Kissing &dating have nothing to do with the age of consent anywhere. 16 is the average age of consent for sex. 3yr age difference no big deal at all. Both of you are teens and young adults.

A 19-year old has no business having a 16-year old gf. But if you choose to, keep your hands off of her! Legally, she has no say in liking anything. There is no such thing as consentual sex with a minor! In most states in the USA, 16 will get you 20!
