Unfortunately,Never as long as There is Assimilation of Cultures
there will Always be Ignorance and Bigotry.
I can see it getting a lot Worse with the Integration of more
Eastern European's From Bulgaria and Romania,because it
will put an even Bigger strain on The Countries Social Infrastructure Health,Social Security Etc.
Also the Problem is that Racism is passed down Generation
to Generation sometimes[Look at Sectarianism for Example]

going by the nature of some of the questions on this site e.g 'why don't they wear air freshners as well as veils cos they smell?' etc. etc. etc. racism is never going to go away. society always needs a scapegoat. Muslims are currently the favourite, used to be Blacks post-war, then Asians, then Eastern Europeans for a bit. now Muslims and no doubt will go towards Romanians soon when they start flooding in to the country.
whilst there may be gretaer competition for resources it gives lazy folk an excuse for being too dumb, lazy, unskilled etc to go out and get a job of their own by claiming the foreigners are taking them all.
The nanny state doesnt help matters, but the fact is most folk - foreign or not dont get their full entitlements of support from the state, but of course there are always cases of people who milk the system - but thats the case for all communities, creeds etc.
been around forever and will go on - just seems to be tolerated more. all we can do is try to eradicate it from our lives and not tolerate it when friends make stupid remarks or stand up for the person being given a hard time on the bus (thats old folk as well - not just about race - i think society is degenerating all over).
guess it comes down to respect -
no respect for other ethnoc groups = racism, but we also have no respect for elderly, the poor, the ill etc.

It's not racism in our society - it's animal instincts. Why can't anybody see that.
We are only animals all said and done. Put a grasshopper in a wasps nest and see what happens, put a leopard in a herd of elephants and see what happens. We're just animals for heavens sake and they say we are the most dangerous on earth.
Introduce anything alien to the familiar surroundings of a herd or any other mass form of life and you will get the same response - slower with humans, but eventual for certain.

Never because this society (looking back on history) was full of racism. This country was founded by white men and since a lot of people came to America for a better life, the color people are still looked down on. The people of differnet cultures can't get ahead and be CEO's or whatever because of streotyped the country has been set up.

You can't be comparing animals to humans, we are all of the same spiecies and not different spiecies. I don't think this will ever end. People just cannot accept people for being different or being themselves. Stubborn race Humans are. Some just don't want to know.. We are all from the same planet! I don't think I am racist and will teach my kids to accept people for who they are, not by their culture or colour of their skin. At least when they see someone, that may look a little different to them, they will make friends with them. We are all different in some way. We can't be all "normal" in society. What is normal anyway?

Unfortunately the sad thing is that in a society which reflects itself as being a modern and multicultural society, there lacks to be any respect for peoples believes and values and however much it seems upsetting to say the truth of it is NEVER if anything it will always get worse as the years continue:(

It is ministers like Jack Straw who support BNP through the back door
Just as Edi Amin expelled Asians from Rhodesia, this governement wants to do the same. But the only difference is; Not Directly but indirectly. Making it look more official

It will never stop happening. Racism is a defense mechanism hard-wired into the human psyche. It goes back to our animalistic reflexes to automatically be dis-trusting towards those who are different from us. It is part of our genetic code... The best we can do is try to control it. It's the same reason people will always continue to kill each other.

never. it is natural for humans to be judgemental of others based on specific qualites. We may not "like" that racism is a part of our society, but no matter what, everyone attributes to racism in some way, shape or form. Its unfortunate, but its true.
