If you injured your back at work then you need to go back to your doctor and tell him the pain management and pills are not working. Have you had an MRI ? I hurt my back at work 5 years ago and went to the ER the next day. they started the paper for for workers comp. while I was getting my MRI. Ive had 2 back surgerys since then and im in Physical Therapy now. You need to find out right away if your back is serious or not because you can get Workers comp. and they will pay for any surgerys and medications you need and you will also get a weekly check while your off work ...

Physical therapy, message therapy, even chiropractic therapy. I never used to believe in chiropractics, but a friend got me to visit his chiropractor. This was an eye opening experience. This Dr gave me a new perspective on the treatment of my back and neck pains. I'll see him before I see my regular physician for my back and neck, his treatments worked that well.

I have one herniated disc and it hurts. I am overweight and have bad posture when I'm here typing these answers. I have to change myself and improve myself in order to improve the quality of my life. The back pain can get overwhelming at times, but if you take care of it properly it will subside.

Take all of the stretching exercises to heart and use them every day. Take the doctors recommendation to lose weight and strengthen your back and stomach muscles...that will go along way to relieving your misery.

I would avoid surgery if at all possible, that's my feeling anyway. My wife has had 3 back surgeries and although she's fully functional, she's had a lot of pain to recover from. Spinal fusion, which is what she had on 3 levels (4 vertebrae) is a last resort IMHO.

If you got hurt on the job, the insurance will pay for your rehab. Keep on them too, they'll try to offer you cash to get you to sign off on your medical rights.

Take it easy and rest on a bed with good support. Maybe a heating pad. Talk with your doctor and tell him your still having pain and see what he can do for you.
Back pain is the worst :(
Good Luck.

Physical therapists are the best. They can help you with your back....stay active, just don't do excercises that will put stress on your back. You do want to stay fit, if you don't you muscles will atrophy and you won't have strength which will make you feel worse!
