Okay... Just so everyone who didnt know... My grandmother is 98 in her right mind. My dads brother ( bobby) put her in a nursing home because she fell.. But didnt hurt herself. ( They just didnt wanna take care of her) The power of attourney is my dad and his brother and sister. Bobby is a very mean man. He will not let my grandmother go in her house to get her stuff or nothing. And she crys and crys over this. My father is meeting a lawyer today. What Im looking for is things to bring up will talking to the lawyer? Are there all day care takers??
Does medicare pay for it? My grand mother just wants to die at home. Is the elderly mental abuse?? Could bobby in any way go to jail for this?

My grandmother put the house in bobbys name ( My dads brother) and Bobby put it in his wifes name... My grandmother did not know about this... How could that happen?

Yes, there is elder abuse. Talk to someone at the local senior center, or a lawyer, or a cop.

My father-in-law is 94 yrs old and he is still at home and being taken care of by "in home health care". She comes in M-F for 8 hrs per day to fix meals, clean, shop and do anything he can not.

I believe medicare covers it or a portion if she is low income. The main problem now is this Bobby has power of attorney. That is power over her and her estate. You need to see a lawyer fast.

Bobby wont go to jail so dont even worry about that. Just try to get him off the power of attorney as he does not have his mothers best interest in mind and should not be her guardian. Once the house was put in his name it is now his and he can do what he likes with it including putting it in his wifes name. Can not do much about that now but ask the lawyer too.

Your grandmother should be allowed to die at home. Remember God is watching all involved with this situation to see how it is being handled. Bobby will certainly not be in Gods favor. Please try to do everything you can to protect your grandmother. She has lived a long life and still deserves her kids and grand kids respect.

The lawyer is your key here. But please check into those who work with alder abuse. Look it up on the internet too.

She is lucky to have you and your father. Yes medicare will pay for part of it if not all. You need to make sure that she gets her power of attorney changed. The uncle could do some serious damage. That needs to be taken care of ASAP

If you say that she is her right mind why dont you talk to her? maybe she will snap and change thins around,,, and for bobby he;s time will come ,, it looks to me that your dads brother is a person with no heart hungry for all the things that your gran mam has... talk to your grandma before she dies and he has every thing her worked for....
