It needs to be recent - on DVD within the past year. And by creepy I mean scary without being too bloody or violent (not a slasher movie).

Some good suggestions. I saw the Grudge and wouldn't mind watching that again (can't wait for Grudge 2 on DVD) and The Amitiville Horror remake was great.
I specified recent ones because I've seen my old faves so often now (The Omen, The Exorcist, The Shining, etc) that they have lost their ability to creep me out.
Hmmm. American Hauniting, I'll have to look for that one.

You wont go wrong with this recent movie
An American Haunting - Not a blood & guts movie but a scarry chiller that keeps you on tender hooks, a good story with great actors.
I have just downloaded The Grudge 2 and that is pretty scarry and jumpy just like the first one.

Try May. It's a very bizzarre story about a girl trying to make friends with unlikely results. There is a bit of gore at the end, but not nearly as much as some recent movies.
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get the Omen remake. If you've seen the original, you've seen the remake. The remake is not worth your time.

saw 2 but since you don't want blood then the Grudge was pretty good or the ring. But silent hill sucks!!!
