get an iron set it on med cool...lay a paper towel over the wax then iron gently till the paper towel soaks up some wax ...repeat with new towels till its up completely..you may still have some residue especially if it was a scented candle you should be able to clean that with your normal cleaning stuff made for hard wood floors.....do this slowly and carefully so yu dont burn your floor or strip it.
I does work my moms got hardwood floors and I wasnt a careful kid...i had to learn to hide stuff or get it cleaned up before mom got home.

They sell a "cold spray" in Canadian Tire and Hardware stores, for around 6 dollars (CA). It hardens the wax to the point of freezing and peels right off with your fingernail!! Wax is mesy when you heat it up and it could ruin the hard wood floor using an iron and towel. Good luck!!

well if it's been there for a while it's going to be hard and possibly mess up the floor. if that's the case you will have to scrape it up with a putty knife or some other object. if it is fresh and you just did it, the use the putty knife but try not to scrape very hard. The wax is going to leave a mark that you should be able to get out with some linseed oil...

Place a towel over the wax.

Take an iron and run it over the towel to met the wax..the wax should stick to the towel and come right up. This also works on carpet.

Good luck!

you could harden it with ice and crack off, then use a detergent/grease cutter with a white cloth. Or an iron on a low setting using an absorbant cloth. However if the candle had red in it the stain might remain.

Take a putty knife and heat it up with a torch or on the stove. Not too hot! Just enough to melt the wax. Then simply whisk it away. You might want to wear gloves.

Some greaseproof paper or tracing paper put on top of it. Then using a warm iron on top of that should melt the wax.

Alternatively, scrape with a blunt instrument

With a scraper. It might still feel a bit tacky, but most of it will be gone.
