No, Guantanamo bay is leased property from the Cuban gov. since shortly after the Spanish American War. It has been continually leased since 1903. It is the only naval base we have in a country that we don't have diplomatic relations with.

No it isn't. Prisoners in Guantanamo don't have the rights they could have in America, that's why Guantanamo is not considered part of the United States.

Well, the bay itself is not. However, there is a US Naval Base located there and within that is the Iraqi detainment camp. Both the base and camp ARE US soil.

Simple answer, yes. Complex answer, Gitmo is a piece of Cuba that the United States "invaded" in the 60's. It was turned into a navel base in the late 60's
