On one end of my garage door there is a 1 inc open space and the other 3/4 inc. I have contacted a few door companies and all they can tell me is to remove the cement from the middle of the driveway where the door closes or build up with cement at the ends. There has to be an easier solution.

In order to work properly, garage doors are installed perfectly level, no matter how out of level the floor of the garage opening may be. If your garage door is wood, it can be scribed and trimmed to fit the floor before the rubber seal is attached. You will not have this option if your door is metal, however there are various types of rubber bottom gaskets that can be installed to the bottom of the door in order to accomodate an out of level floor. These are inexpensive and are not hard to install. They are available at any home improvement center. Just remember to measure the widest gap before you go to the store so you get one that will work.

Good luck with your garage door.

Those notches are for water to drain out of the garage. In winter as ice melts water needs to drain or it will freeze by the door and create a bump and very slippery surface.
