I moved to another state & am applying for medical help, but I don't have birth certificates for my children. My previous state had sent away to the hospitals where I had my children at for the records that proved they were mine. Now as I have moved, I need the records here, but they said they don't think they will release them. Don't they have to? Esp since it's all the same office, just a different state.
(I DO plan to get their birth certificates when I can afford to, but to get them all right now would be over $100! & they cannot get medical at all until I have it all.)
Thanks for your answers.

No, you have to request them from the hospital yourself.

No You will request them yourself, but there is a couple of different options that you may have. One is ask the old Food Stamp Office to send the info that you need themselves to your new ones or at least ask them to provide copies for you. Good luck and I hope that it may help.

I don't know why they wouldn't "share" the records. You may need to ask to speak to supervisors in one or both offices. If that doesn't work, ask for THEIR supervisor. Someone can get something done for you. Just don't give up. Good luck!
